This is the most exciting time of the year for me, the beginning of the school year. There are always so many exciting things going on such as the beginning of new classes, rush for my fraternity with all of the NFL Football. My summer was extremely long and the last thing that I wrote about was about my working in Stockton 80+ hours a week which seemed like such an easy feat compared to what I did in Washington. For two months I worked crazy hours including an 113 hour work week. It was definitely a lot of hours and work, but it was well worth it and I actually felt a little empty the next couple of days when I returned because I had worked for so long. However I did get used to it and regain my life, don’t worry…
I had about two or three weeks to enjoy summer and mostly I just rested, hung out with my friends, and went to Santa Cruz a couple of times. It was exactly what I needed, low stress to give me some time before school started. However, I was ready to start school and get back on campus for the excitement of the start of the year. For those that are new to my blogs or new to the idea of Stanislaus, you should know that the city and campus are absolutely gorgeous. It is like a suburb where people go for runs, go to the parks, and enjoy the sunshine. I have done a lot of this as well as exploring the city to enjoy the beauty. In addition, this time of year the excitement is at a high because everyone has new goals and aspirations. The key is to remain ambitious and keep that excitement throughout the semester even though it gets difficult to balance everything. I really wanted to keep my grades up, volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, as well as playing a bunch of intramurals and it seems as if all of those things will be very possible.
I hope you all have a good start to your year, go Warriors, and God Bless!
